The Bridgeton Burns Club was founded in 1870 and is Number 49 on the role of the Burns Federation.

Consider becoming a Patron of, or making a donation to, our charity or join our 800 members! We’ve been busy in 2024 meeting schools, raising funds, hosting our own “On the Bard” event in September 2024 , on our archives, attended by other clubs and academia. Over 450,000 children have benefitted from our charity! See us on Facebook! Let’s all remember Burns is not just for Burns Night ! We attended a Burns Supper in August 2024 in Stirling in the very Inn Burns visited in August 1787!

Club Profile.

The Club is managed by a Board of Directors, ably assisted by a large complement of Past Presidents.

We are a registered charity running a renowned schools competition for school children in East of Glasgow for which we provide materials, instruments, gifts, prizes, accompanists, transport, catering, vouchers and opportunity for talents to be developed through the work of Robert Burns, who himself benefitted through education. We also run outings, provide speakers, grant bursaries for students staying in higher education and other activities and have frequently been broadcast on BBC and other media outlets.
